JOB TITLE: Skatepark Assistant
REPORTS TO: Centre Manager
LOCATION: X-Site Skatepark, North Parade, Skegness
SALARY: Meets National Minimum Wage
WORKING HOURS: Minimum 20 hours per week
Lincolnshire Extreme Sports Association is a not for profit organisation. It is also a registered Charity and must comply with the responsibilities set out by companies house. The association operates X-Site Skatepark, a unique extreme sports facility offering a number of opportunities in extreme sports, art and cultural activities.
The skatepark assistant will support the park manager with the running and development of the park. The post holder will assist in the day to day operations of the skatepark to ensure it is managed and used in an efficient way, ensuring all areas of the skatepark and its users are safe, creating a suitable, safe and fun environment for all.
The post holder will be responsible of acting as a duty supervisor when the manager is not on site.
KEY AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To assist the manager in running the park per the policies and procedures set.
To help promote the park and what it has to offer via various media outlets.
To staff the reception which will include taking payment, checking consent forms, inputting data, updating the database, answering phone calls, sales of equipment, taking bookings and dealing with general queries.
To be aware of the products and services offered by the facility and to be able to communicate these effectively to the customer and wider public.
To monitor park users and ensure they are following park rules, ensuring that riders have a safe environment to ride in and any hazards identified are dealt with.
Ensure the park is kept clean and tidy at all times.
To assist in the organising and delivery of events with the team.
To support the manager with the development of the facility.
To work as part of the team to make the wider public aware of the opportunities that the facility can offer.
To support the manager to produce plans to promote the facility.
To promote events and coaching taking place in the facility.
To assist the manager to forge relationships with schools, groups and other outside organisations where applicable.
To assist in the administrative, marketing and financial operations of the facility as directed by the manager.
To attend and fully participate in meetings where required, and to communicate information to staff members as appropriate.
To ensure the security of all cash and stock and to maintain the safety and security of staff and the premises at all times.
Undertaking basic first aid and undergoing necessary training where appropriate.
To ensure that all ramps and equipment are well maintained and checked before every session and event, reporting immediately any defects.
To ensure that all ramps and equipment are maintained to the required standard.
Comply with the organisations policies and procedures at all times.
Maintain the integrity of LESA and X-Site and the brand in all internal and external communications.
Maintain a proactive approach to your role and responsibilities along with a commitment to contribute and maintain a positive working ethos.
Undertake any training and development deemed necessary for the post.
Be a key holder for the facility ensuring the facility is secure at all times.
Any other duties required within the post.
The post holder will be required to work evenings and weekends.
G.C.S.E Grade C or Above (Maths and English)
Current First Aid Certificate (Desirable)
Current Disclosure Barring Service check DBS (The post requires a DBS check as a requirement for the role – the post will be offered subject to satisfactory DBS clearance)

Experience of working/tuition of children (desirable but not essential)

Ability to convey instructions correctly and appropriately to other members of staff and volunteers
